About Us

St. Botolph's Church, Heene on Lansdowne Road in Worthing is a friendly, traditional Church of England Church.

The weekly Sunday Parish Sung Eucharist service includes  hymns, readings, a psalm, sermon, communion setting, prayers and an anthem.

There is also a said service of Holy Communion each week on a Wednesday at 12.30pm. This is a short service to which - as with all events at St. Botolph's - anyone is welcome.

We love to see families and younger people in church and there is a children's corner at the back of the church with books and drawing equipment for our younger visitors to any service.

There is a prayer group each Friday morning in the Lady Chapel, starting at 10.15am and lasting approximately 15-25 minutes.

The church has a very strong choral tradition, going back to its foundation in 1873 and continuing today through our RSCM-affiliated choir.

We are also very lucky to be one of the few churches locally with a ring of 8 bells. The bells are rung before each Sunday Eucharist.

Our part-time Priest-in-Charge, who was licensed here on Tuesday, 24th July 2018, is Rev. Peter Kane. He will be working on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

During the week the church and its adjoining church rooms (which are both available for hire) are in frequent use - with a wide range of organisations using the building. See further details on our 'Regular Events' page.

Our church welcome leaflet has been revised. This version is up-to-date as of 29th September 2018.
